·          Backchannel social networking for Classroom productivity, Sep 2010 – Nov 2010

Developed a backchannel app, similar to Twitter, using MVC of Ruby on Rails but having extra set of features like recommendation of user content. Also deployed the app to cloud at http://backchannel.wolfstack.com

·            Did a usability study and developed prototype of Television Based Social Networking – Oct- Dec 2010

As a part of Human Computer Interaction course, I along with other team members did a usability study of potential television based social networks. Also, I developed a prototype version of software in WPF, to demonstrate its usefulness. It was mostly based on

·            Evaluation of Microsoft’s Unit Testing Framework  - Sep – Dec 2010

As a part of Software Engineering Course, I evaluated Microsoft’s Unit Testing Framework and compared it with open source NUnit. Also, in the end I wrote a paper on my results and findings.

·            Framework for Universal Remote Control using Mobile Devices, Dec 2005 – Nov 2006

Developed complete framework for mobile devices, which can be used to create mobile applications to control almost any device via Bluetooth/IR signals. The mobile app can have control parameters for various devices, e.g. Fan, Music System, TV, Air Conditioner etc which would interact with the middle layer server to control these devices using IR or Bluetooth controller.

Skills used: Symbian Internals, Java (J2ME) for mobile device, win32/MFC for server, C++ for Symbian, Tools by Nokia

 

·            Developed a small social network for my batch of undergrad students , Jan 2007 – April 2007

The idea which started from just simple and static guestbook, finally ended up being a small social network where students can connect with each other with their college id and see the updates of their friends, write testimonials. It was a huge hit during those days and got more than 5000 hits every day among bunch of 150 students.

·            Automatic Time Table Design, Sept 2004 – Nov 2004

Developed a simple web utility for educational institutions to automatically generate mutually exclusive and clash free Time Table.

·            SHAMP – Search and Indexing of mp3 music on Local Area Network, May 2004 – Sept 2004

SHAMP is software built on .Net platform and is an excellent way to listen and share songs on LAN.

Skills used: MS-Access, C#.Net/Win32 Interop, SQL

 

·            Licensing through XML Digital Signatures, Oct 2005 – Nov 2005

This project involved licensing of paid software through a digitally signed License file which is made by the software company on request of the person using it.

Skills used: C# .Net, XML/XSLT

 

Miscellaneous Projects

·         Developed a plug-in DLL for Windows Media Player using its SDK and Win32 API that adds the global   hotkeys support in Windows Media Player.

·         Developed couple of plug-ins for Yahoo Messenger that can send automatic reply if user is away or can set user status from various applications. Also made countdown timer for the same.

·         Simulated a 3D city in OpenGL which can be traversed through by a mouse and keyboard using OpenGL and VC++ just like any 3D game engine.

·         Setup first ever private online radio station (with Jukebox) in my college using distributed servers. It was accessed by more than 100 students at a time.
